June Event Speaker-Victoria Byrd

Director of Marketing and Communications – McDonalds

Eager to become independent from an early age, Victoria got her first job working at the McDonald’s on 5th Street when she was 16.  It wasn’t too long before she was moved into a shift manager position and then became an assistance store manager in 2001. In 2006 Victoria quit her full-time job to stay home with her two small children while her husband completed graduate studies at ISU. Just 2 weeks after leaving the stores Mary Johnson called Victoria and asked her to continue working on the McTeacher’s Night program she had started the year before. This offer eventually grew into the position of Director of Marketing and Communications. Victoria’s position has given her a lot of flexibility to be involved in the community that she loves. She is on several boards including the Education Foundation for School District 25, and is the President Elect for Leadership Pocatello. She’s also an active Pocatello Chief. Victoria is a Rotarian and enjoys being a part of the Rotary Helps Committee, and is the District Chair for RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Academy. And is a recipient of the 2014 Over Achiever Under 40 Award.

 In 2015 with her husband created a Non-Profit organization, Hope Rides, to be a catalyst for universal health awareness through active community events. Hope Rides’ event Pink Ribbon Tour, a cycling event to raise awareness for Breast Cancer has raised $70,000 for local cancer patients.

Victoria married Jason Byrd in 2001 and is the mother of their 4 wonderful sons. With a house full of boys Victoria has learned to enjoy mountain climbing, camping, hunting, mountain biking, and running. She is also a certified Pilates floor and equipment instructor. And is working on finishing her degree in Marriage and Family studies at BYU-I.

Jeremy Hix

Jeremy started in the Human Capital world in 1999 as a recruiter for Robert Half International, he then opened with two partners,  ConnectPoint Recruiting – specializing in placing banking executives.  He has also owned retail video games stores, an SEC filing business, and has spent the last 7 and half years as the Area Manager for BBSI in Idaho Falls – where they help small/medium size businesses build better organizations.  They do this through a unique combination of specific tools and disciplines.   In addition to managing the local BBSI branch, he also trains and helps develop others throughout the BBSI organization.   He graduated from Utah State with a BS in Business and Ag Business.    He and his wife Sara live in Ammon and have 5 children.   Jeremy has a passion for helping business owners get back to loving their businesses again.

Jeff Newgard 

President & CEO of the Bank of Idaho

Mr. Newgard joined the Bank of Idaho in July 2015 as the President and CEO. He came from HomeStreet Bank where he was responsible for management and strategic expansion throughout Central and Eastern Washington. Mr. Newgard joined HomeStreet with the company’s acquisition of Yakima National Bank (YNB), where he served as president and chief executive officer. Mr. Newgard, who has held a number of leadership positions in regional and community banking since 1998, is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking (Colorado) and holds a Masters of Business Administration from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Walla Walla College.  Mr. Newgard is very involved in Eastern Idaho area and currently serves as Area 5 Chair of the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve, as well as serving on several boards and committees, including Independent Community Bankers’ of America Select Committee on Cyber Security, the Idaho Falls Symphony, and War Bonnet Rodeo just to name a few. He has a wife, Savannah, two daughters, and a son. His family is his greatest joy in life.

Chris Taylor

President & CEO of Fisher’s Technology

Chris is President, CEO and Co-Owner of Fisher’s Technology, an office technology company offering IT network management, copier and printer services, and office efficiency software solutions. A Boise Native, Chris received his MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and holds a Chemical Engineering Degree from University of Idaho.  Chris sits on the Board of Directors of may organizations in Idaho. quadrupled in size and received numerous awards including: Idaho’s Best Places to work the last nine years straight, Inc. 5000 fastest growing U.S. companies four years, among other awards for Business and Technology.
